$4.8 million mini Lamborghini costs ten times as much as the real thing (Yahoo! News)

The model Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 adds platinum, diamonds, and gold into the mix

You might not be able to take it for a spin, but the world's most expensive model?car is actually nicer ? and pricier ? than the real thing. The miniature ride is a 1/8 scale model of its larger sibling, 2011's?Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4. Unbelievably, while the real deal will set you back around $400,000, you'll pay $4.8 million for the decidedly less street-ready version ? over ten times as much. At that price, the?street-legal replica Batmobile is starting to look like a steal.

Sure, the?real Aventador LP 700-4 can go from zero to 60 in less than three seconds, but its tiny replica boasts a carbon fiber body, and almost $3 million in precious metals and stones alone ? including rims forged from gold and platinum and diamonds embedded in its tiny seats, steering wheel, and mini headlights.

The replica was created by Robert G?lpen, a seasoned model car crafter and former mechanical engineer. He began creating the painstakingly-rendered replicas in the late 90s, and he poured 500 hours into his newest creation.

The tiny Lamborghini will be on display at Germany's Frankfurt Auto Show on September 25, reportedly behind bulletproof glass. If feasting your eyes just isn't enough, Sotheby's will auction off the little Lamborghini in December starting at $4.8 million.

Can't wait that long to add it to your ultra-luxe?mini auto collection? Purchase it now directly from G?lpen ? but the impulse buy will cost you $6 million.
